We're Moving

Wingham Wool is now closed until the 19th February as we are relocating from South Yorkshire to Gloucestershire.
Orders may be placed during this time but please be aware that they won't be processed until the 19th February onwards.

Coloured Wools

All our wools are selected and combed from the best parts of the best fleeces to give a consistent high quality. This does mean that at certain times some are not in stock as we have run out and wool is not available of high enough quality to be processed. Our policy is to only offer the best to spinners and feltmakers who put a lot of time and effort into their work and need to know that the finished product will be of a high standard.
All of these coloured wools can be dyed with Landscape dyes. Dyeing onto the natural shades gives some very interesting results.

We are often asked about the origin of our wools. The British breed types are only from Britain. Others are from their natural country of origin with some of the northern european types also being grown in Britain. A few originate from South America, New Zealand, Falkland Islands and Australia (non mulesed)
